Best Writing is an annually published anthology of Texas A&M in Qatar student writing.
For engineering majors, writing and other humanities courses are particularly crucial in helping them develop the critical thinking skills necessary to perceive multiple ways of understanding an issue or approaching a problem.
Catch a glimpse of another mind mid-flight, struggling to make sense of something important. Join us in applauding Texas A&M in Qatar “poet engineers” for having the courage to communicate their views, to expose their creativity, and to contribute to sharing knowledge beyond the walls of the academy.

By reading the pieces in Best Writing, you will witness many instances of engineering undergrads demonstrating emotional courage and concern for others as they share their writing with the world.
As most of the contributions to Best Writing were originally written in response to particular course assignments, we encourage you to read the writer’s reflection at the beginning of each piece to help you understand the writing context.
Don’t forget to skim the brief biography at the end of each piece to inform you of who the writer is and what matters to him or her.
